Dallas Divide was a high point on the old Rio Grande Southern Railroad. The rail line had to climb this pass to get from Telluride and Placerville area to get to Ridgeway and Ouray which was its final destination. The divide is actually one of the lower passes in Colorado at only 8970 feet in elevation.
This view is of the San Juan Mountains from the park like setting of the Divide. Still not quite fall at the lower elevations.

I could almost enjoy mowing that lawn.
What beautiful country. You say only 8,000 feet...thats pretty high for my breathing I think. Great shots. I am really enjoying them.
That looks like a great shot for a postcard!
Didja see Mr. Lauren?
I'm sure you didn't touch it since I've seen those blues and greens in person...

Beatiful view. I like the color on the building of yesterdays post.
Is this a picture or a painting? I need to get myself out of Miami!
Thanks for stopping by. Your photos are just beautiful. I love them all.
I don't know how accounting got on my profile. I never picked anything - so no I'm not in accounting, though do I enjoy working in Quicken. :-) I am a star trek fan and like Second Generation the best. I just love Jean-Luc - best captain ever. I have all 7 seasons on DVD.
My husband is the train man. I don't do any of the work but love looking at it.
Stunning! The colors are awesome!
I'm really enjoying your road trip.
To answer your question, there are no more photographers in my imediate family, finally they are all blogging with the exception of a few snap-shooters.
gorgeous mike!!!
Wow what a beautiful clear day, perfect for this type of shot, an awesome sight. Hopefully one day I will get to see this sort of scenery and be able to shoot it too. Beautiful.

Just beautiful. I'll bet the air smelled good too.
Did you have a hard time breathing? I mean, this takes our breath away...
This picture looks too good to be true! I thought it was a painting at first - except I knew it had to be a photo to make the blog!
